to all those why said Kobe is not a team player, a ballhog
ex:
steve nash gets around 19 points and 11 assists per game.
kobe bryant gets around 31 points and 5 assists per game.
ok, so kobe decides not to get the points and start dishing out passes.
yesterday, versus the kings-kobe got 19 points, 13 assists.
he can do it anytime.
but nash is the Point guard!
kobe is a shooting guard!
point guard make the plays
shooting guard shoots the ball to score points
so anyone can start making passes instead of scoring and get MVP? no that is just bs.
firecop, u made my day.
that was so funny.
o, and kobe got 53 points against mcgrady, and all those other players? that is stupid
it's not about who's making the most assists, this is not battle of points or assists in the statistical category. MVP's are all about "who makes their team better, who makes their teamates better players, who provides on and off court leadership the best, and most importantly WHO PERSONIFIES THE NBA THE BEST".
certainly not someone who comes out swinging his elbows and clotheslining opponents once they decide to stick it to him and turn the defense up a notch. Kobe may or may not be a dirty player, but the point is...have you ever heard nash swinging his elbows?
that certainly speaks of immaturity or poor sportsmanship on kobe's part.
he scores a lot alright, but are they a better team because of that? look at their team record, they're just 2 places away from being the last in the west and are actually just a few wins better than the other two below them.
kobe may be a great player and a great individual talent, but a great teamplayer and leader he is not.

Though I am not a fan of Kobe, I will not hate but attempt to be professional. After five years of antagonizing Kobe I am going to come to truth with my thoughts on Kobe, and put my hate to the side. There I said it, Kobe bryant is the best shooting guard in the NBA today and arguably the greatest individual talent ever. However when selecting best players is it possible to compare a shooting guard to a center or to a foward (e.g. Tim Duncam, Kevin Garnett). Should we rephrase the statement as Kobe is the best shooting guard in the NBA versus player? What do you think?
Opinions are different and "best" doesn't always mean the same thing to everyone. That's okay because if everyone agreed on "best" then Baskin-Robbins would only sell one ice cream flavor. There would only be one type of car and color and so on.
For some, Kobe is the "best" because he scored 81 points. For me, "best" means someone who is humble, doesn't showboat, puts his team first and does what it takes to win the game. Tim Duncan fits my description of "best". So does Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, Kareem and others. Kobe Bryant does not fit my description of "best".
Your definition of "best" may be different. The point is there is no right or wrong when it comes to "best".

This statement was made by Kobe Bryant: " I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter." I don't know if he can necessarily be called a "rapist", but why would such a man, rapist or not, be heralded as some sort of hero? Is it not more appropriate to vilify him as someone who did a disgusting thing?
Beacuse in this day and age, the collective morals of the populace are so low that 'most people' don't give a crap if he's a lowlife, as long as he plays basketball. It's really a very sad statement about people in general. But let's not limit this to kobe either, alot of 'icons' do that and worse, and people don't care because of who they are. People actually celebrated when OJ got found not guilty of killing two people, yet most knew he was guilty. Very sad.
I saw Kobe Bryant playing with some tape on his fingers during the finals does it improve his playin or did he just have a sprain?
,hes a torn ligament in this finger for months. He needs surgery on it. but he waited until the season was done and now hes waiting until after he plays in the Olympics to get the surgery.
do you guys really think that Kobe bryant didn't cheat on his wife for the hundredth time during this Olympic games?
Don't get me wrong: his wife cheats on him too. In those marriages (between VIPs) its obvious and therefore is only fair that he cheated on her. But what do you think? did he cheat on his wife for the hundredth time, or the “alleged rape” case was the only time? be smart.
P.S. if you ask me, he never raped that woman.
well he spends his time going round the olympic village and tasting everyone azz.
He goes around the female gymnasts and helps them to be more flexible by tearing their hymen.
He would go to the hotel and do his female fans after shopping.
Well he likes to b**g candace parker too, to help improbe her flexibility.
Before the final games with australia, he also entered becky hammon.
Most of the female athletes managed to go away with his seeds.
