For my Spanish coursework I can choose the topic.
Being an F1 fan, I wanted to do something on Fernando Alonso.
But I am not sure what to do on him and how to tie it in with Spain (it needs to have enough to do with Spain).
Can anyone help me come up with a title for my coursework essay? It would start with something like "Evaluate..." or "How far..." etc.
Thanks :)
Evaluate the effect on Oviedo of being home to Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso.
The have an Alonso museum and had city-wide events to mark his second title...they also welcome him home at the city hall at the end of every season!

Lewis Hamilton & Fernando Alonso Mercedes Funny TV Advert
It's a possibility given Fernando Alonso's comments of late.
I think Kimi is probably one of the few drivers that he probably would treat with some respect.
They came into f1 the same year, Alonso has seen Kimi miss out on the title a possible two times due to reliability problems - So he's no upstart. Hamilton was a shock for Alonso and wouldn't he be for any champion.
It probably won't happen for various reasons but with the right management I could see them working fine together.
The rumor that just won't go away! Germany's Sports Blid reports that the Spanish bank Santander will leave Mclaren at the end of this year and will join Ferrari along with Fernando Alonso!
My question is: Should Fernando move to Ferrari, who would be the better teammate for him? Kimi Raikkonen or Felipe Massa? and why?
Bild may be a scandal-rag where sales are more important than facts, but it does have a habit of picking up F1 & football rumours which turn out to be correct.
Alonso would beat either Raikkonen or Massa in equal cars, and as neither of the current drivers seem to have made themselves into the heartbeat of the team there would be plenty of room for Alonso to make himself feel at home, unlike at McLaren last year. I think he'd actually prefer Raikkonen to Massa from a team dynamics point of view.
Whether he will leave Renault again is another matter, especially if they continue their recent progress to the end of the season. I think he would be better off staying put, where he feels wanted.
Santander will leave McLaren for wherever Alonso is though...I think they will only be signing ONE year contracts with teams from now on though, so they don't get caught out if Alonso moves on early again.
Do you think Fernando Alonso will go back to Renault in 2008 or will he go somewhere else or stay at McLaren?
I think he will go back to them and Flavio Briatore want's him back so there is basicly a place already there for him.
He will try and get in at Ferrari
This what I think but please corret me if am wrong.
If Alonso finishes 1st and Lewis 3rd (Alonso wins)
if Alonso finishes 2nd and Lewis 5th (Lewis wins)
if Alonso finishes 3rd and Lewis 7th (Lewis wins as long as Kimi does not 1st)
if Alonso finishes 4th and Lewis 8th (Lewis wins as long as Kimi does not 1st)
if Alonso finishes 5th and Lewis RET (Alonso wins as long as Kimi does not finish 1st or 2nd)
The current gap between Kimi and Lewis is 7 points the scenarios will play something like these
if Kimi goes 1st and Lewis finishes 6th (Kimi will win the championship as long Alonso finishes 3rd or worse)
If Kimi goes 2nd and Lewis finishes 8th (Lewis will win the championship as long Alonso finishes 5th or worse)
If a triple tie occurs Lewis Hamilton wins
I'd say you've got it covered. I can safely say that's right. If they tie, the person who won the most races gets the championship
By the way...F1's down the hall.
Reports have surfaced that there is a possible link between the 2-time defending champion and the spy scandal. They claim that the new evidence that was revealed to the FIA that the evidence shows that Alonso was involved. As an Alonso fan, this is really ridiculous!
No, the drivers won't have been involved, but they could well be asked if they saw something, or were asked to test drive something. All along one of the concerns hasn't been that McLaren could have used the information to make their car better, but that they could have actually constructed a Ferrari car to test it and find what they can do to beat it.
So, naturally, had they done so, someone would have had to drive it.
"Autosport.com understands that the FIA became aware of new evidence last week and wrote to all F1 teams, as well as Alonso, de la Rosa and Hamilton, on Friday to make it clear that it was their duty to provide the FIA with any information regarding that matter."
I would say from this comment that it is pretty clear the FIA has its hands on something along the lines I've suggested. Could be pretty damning evidence if indeed this is the case.
